Nur kurz. Ihr habt aber ja schon einen Post bekommen heute, also seid froh, dass ich überhaupt wat schreibe. Gut. Ich wollte nur was Kurzes zu Wikipedia schreiben. Ich finde es eigentlich voll gut - ich mag, dass man Statistiken abrufen kann, auch wenn sie nicht immer richtig sind, ich mag, dass man die Artikel auch in anderen Sprachen lesen kann - ich mag eigentlich sehr viel. Mich stören aber die Verlinkungen. Theoretisch ist es ja gut - wenn du einen Artikel über David Beckham liest, und seine Frau erwähnt wird, dann ist es nett, dass du auf ihren Namen klicken kannst und dann bei dem entsprechenden Artikel landest. Das ist jut. Problematischer ist aber, wenn jemand einfach eine Zahl markiert, zum Beispiel eine Jahreszahl, die sich in dem Zusammenhang des Artikels auf etwas Bestimmtes bezieht, zum Beispiel auf die Fußballsaison 2009-10, nicht die Jahre 2009 und 2010 an sich - dann wird man aber häufig zu den Artikeln geschickt, die bloß die doofen Jahre beschreiben und man muss dann weiter durch die Seiten wälzen, bis man dann die richtige Seite zu der gesuchten Saison findet. Ist ja nicht so tragisch, aber man hat das Gefühl, dass es besser sein könnte. Ich werde natürlich nicht durch all die Millionen Millionen Seiten durchgehen und das alles ändern - weiß gar nicht, ob das gar von den Wikipedia-Redakteuren erwünscht wäre - aber ich würde mich freuen, wenn es sich mal quasi von alleine (andere tun die Arbeit) ändern würde.
Ihr müsst das aber auch nicht machen - ich meine, es ist ja Sonntag.

Just a short one. You've already had one post today though so you can count yourselves lucky that I'm writing anything at all. Good. I just wanted to say something briefly about Wikipedia. To be honest, I find Wikipedia really good - I like that you can get stats on there, even if they're not always correct, I like, that you can get articles in other languages - to be honest I like a lot. The links annoy me though. In theory it's good of course - if you're reading an article about David Beckham, and his wife is mentioned, then it's nice, if you can click on her name and then end up at the corresponding article. That's good. What's more problematic though, is when someone's just marked a number, such as a year, which in the context of the article refers to something specific, like to the football season 2009-10, not to the years 2009 and 2010 themselves - then one is often sent to the articles, which just tell you abou the silly old years and you have to trawl further through the pages to find the right page about the season you're seeking. I mean, it isn't such a tragedy, but one has the feeling that it could be better. I will of course not be going through all the millions of millions of pages and changing all this - I don't even know if that's even what the Wikipedia editors are after - but I would be happy if it would basically change on it's own (other people do the work).
Don't feel that you have to do it though - it is Sunday after all.
PS: Don't forget to read the keywords. There is sometimes important content tucked away in there.

Bus ads don't work

Werbungen, die "Hier könnte Ihre Werbung stehen", "Tausende Leute lesen U-Bahn-Werbungen jeden Tag" oder "Werbeplakate auf Bussen funktionieren" sagen, sind etwas problematisch. Allein durch ihre Existenz beweisen sie das Gegenteil von dem, was sie behaupten möchten. Wenn die so toll wären, würden nämlich jemand den Platz schon gekauft haben (denn die Werbung hätte funktioniert) und sie wären dann nicht mehr zu sehen. Das heißt, man sieht nur sowas, wenn es nichts bewirkt. Wenn die erfolgreich sind, verschwinden sie aus dem Auge und aus dem Bewusstsein. Nicht wie Beckham. Egal wie wenig er mittlerweile laufen kann, bleibt er ständig in den Nachrichten und vor allem in den Herzen der Menschen. Beckham ist besser als Buswerbung.

Adverts, which say "Your ad here", "thousands of people read underground ads every day" or "Bus ads work", are somewhat problematic. Through their very existence they prove the opposite of that which they are trying to claim. If they were so great, then somebody would have bought the space (because the ad would have worked) and you wouldn't be able to see them anymore. That mean, you only see something like that when it's not working. If they are successful they disappear out of sight and out of mind. Not like Beckham. However little he can run nowadays, he remains constantly in the news and above all in the hearts of the people. Beckham is better than bus ads.

My Grammy Awards

Hallo. Heute (oder gestern?) wurden die Grammy Awards verliehen. Ich habe nicht so viel Lust gehabt, genau nachzugucken, wer wat gewonnen hat, aber ich weiß, dass Beyonce ziemlich viele mit nach Hause nehmen durfte, und auch irgendne Frau, die ich nicht kenne. Also Gratulationen an die beiden Damen, und hier meine "Grammy" Awards, wie ich die getauft habe. Die beziehen sich nicht ausschließlich aufs letzte Jahr, sondern auf die letzte ungefähre Zeit, die mir gerade einfällt. So.

Best Pop: Nicht Katy Perry
Best Rock: Ähm...
Best Hip Hop: N-Dubz, Number One.
Worst Live Performance: N-Dubz, You should have put something on bei Jonathan Ross.
Best TV: Royle Family Christmas Special 2008
Best Film-Quote: Say Auf Wiedersehen to your Nazi Balls - Inglourious Basterds.
Best Film: Keine Ahnung, wann ich letztes Mal im Kino war..hab Brüno neulich im Netz geguckt, war aber nicht so toll - also sagen wir halt Avatar.
Best Band: die deutsche irische Band in Berlin, die ich mal im April sah - weiß nicht mehr wie die heißen - Palface oder sowas. Nee quatsch, Larkin heißen die.
Best Male: David Beckham
Best Female: Lady Gaga
Lifetime Achievement Award: Tom Huddlestone (dafür, dass er so athletisch gebaut ist)
Should be disappointed with his life Award: Tom Hanks
Song of the Year: Kiss me thru the phone, von Soulja Boy (glaube ich)
Sporting Performance of the Year: Der Ägypter, der Torschützenkönig beim Afrika-Cup war, ohne ein einziges Mal in der Startelf zu stehen. 5 Joker-Tore. Respekt.

So das war's. Wie immer könnte ihr in den Comments das bestreiten, was ihr nicht ganz 100% richtig findet. Ist aber wenig Kontroverses da.

Hello. Today (or yesterday?) the Grammy Awards were given out. I couldn't really be bothered looking exactly who won what, but I heard Beyonce took quite a lot of awards home with her, and some other woman that I've not heard of too. So Congratulations to both those ladies and here are my "Grammy" Awards, as I've called them. They don't relate exclusively to the last year, but more to the last vague space of time that I can think of. Here goes:

Best Pop: Not Katy Perry
Best Rock: Ähm...
Best Hip Hop: N-Dubz, Number One.
Worst Live Performance: N-Dubz, "You should have put something on" on Jonathan Ross.
Best TV: Royle Family Christmas Special 2008
Best Film-Quote: Say Auf Wiedersehen to your Nazi Balls - Inglourious Basterds.
Best Film: No idea, when the last time was I went to the cinema. Saw Brüno recently on the internet, wasn't that great though, so we'd better just say Avatar.
Best Band: The German Irish band from Berlin that I saw back in April - can't remember anymore what they're called - Palface or something. No nonsense, Larkin they're called.
Best Male: David Beckham
Best Female: Lady Gaga
Lifetime Achievement Award: Tom Huddlestone (for being a unit)
Should be disappointed with his life Award: Tom Hanks
Song of the Year: Kiss me thru the phone, von Soulja Boy (I think)
Sporting Performance of the Year: The Egyptian who got the golden boot at the African Cup of Nations without starting a single game. 5 goals coming of the bench. Awesome.
