Heute ist also kein Super-Sonntag.
Today we've got one of these texts about an object, which I just happen to have noticed on my table or possibly in my fridge. So today isn't really a Super Sunday. But that doesn't really matter.
Today it's about the company "Gutes Land" (Good Country). Good Country is a company, which produces milk products, e.g. milk, in Germany and sells them in cheap supermarkets. The milk is pretty alright, even if some people do get worked up about the poor farmers, because they're so poor. I don't really get worked up about that. I get worked up by the fact that they are called "Good Country", but don't sell any country. It would surely be much better to call themselves "Good Milk", if they want to give the impression of a high milk quality. They describe the milk as "fresh" and "longer lasting", which is reasonable, but whether it is also "good" - so basically the most essential of all essential information which the customer needs, remains a mystery to him. He is therefore forced to buy the milk in order to then find out whether it's good or not. Fortunately, the fresh milk (which is also longer lasting) from Good Country is also good. I can however confirm that that is just chance. The kefir from them is, it must be said, also good, and the cheese is indeed tasty, but it then sticks together a bit and then the individual slices break apart a bit because of a too high sticking resistance towards the slice lying underneath. And that is somewhat less than "good".
Have a nice Sunday.

Super Sunday - The corkscrew
English translation follows the German text.
Hallo.
Good day. Today something happened which really made the world and above all my life more beautiful. I'll describe it for you. It was just a very small thing, but it still unleashed a great joy. Right: I had arranged to go to a mate's house for lunch and I had to use a bus-underground-combination to get there. I also took a bottle of wine with me, because I'd been promising for a while that I would at some point bring a bottle of wine with me. So I realised this aim and everything was already pretty good as I set off. On the way (on the bus) I then thought that maybe he wouldn't have a corkscrew, which would be a great shame for the whole wine-bringery - he has only quite recently moved into his new flat and he's got pans, both frying and sauce, as well as potato peelers, but I thought that he might nevertheless not yet have picked up a corkscrew, seeing as he's not a massive wine drinker. Anyway, I had this thought and then as I was getting out at the bus stop, which doubles as an underground station, I saw a flea market. I tried to give him a ring to find out whether he had a corkscrew, but I couldn't reach him. So I had to make a decision: to buy or not to buy. I went ahead and bought one, a pretty grotty looking one, which I got for 80 cents (haggled down from a euro). I took this with me into the underground and then on to my host's. After we'd cooked dinner and it came to the wine-opening time, I saw that my mate was hesitating and I said to him that I had a corkscrew with me and everything was awesome. It didn't even break, in spite of its cheap looking plastic handle, nand the meal was saved. Brilliant. There was so much that could have gone wrong - he could have already had a corkscrew, I might have ended up dropping a fiver on one, we might not have been bothered drinking the wine, the corkscrew might have been useless or even broken, but no - nothing went wrong at all. Such events really make my life good - far too often things don't come off nearly as smoothly, but I won't mention any examples here, because I don't want to put a downer on what has been a thoroughly Super Sunday.
See you tomorrow.
PS: Tom Huddlestone missed a penalty today which does make one doubt one's world view a little bit, but thanks to the corkscrew story I should be able to stay positive.

Super Sunday
English Translation follows the German text.
Also: Hier die "Top Ten" sozusagen.
Super Sunday is back! This week I am going to carry out some self reflection, well I'm thinking what is good in the blog and what isn't. Ten ad-/disadvantages have sprung to mind and you 'most certainly agree with me. If not, feel free to let me know. Right: here is the "top ten" so to speak.
1) Poetry Tuesday was a great success.
2) The "Hit Counter" causes more people to visit the blog.
3) The attempt to make the blog more interesting with silly keywords like Lady Gaga, didn't really help matters too much.
4) Less than 24 hours after the post about Ruud Gullit a Dutch guy started following me on Twitter. Clearly, Gullit Fans are still regularly on the lookout for info. about him. I'll therfore be producing a Gullit-update some time soon.
5) It isn't really a problem that half the Twitter-updates at the side of the blog only say that there's a new blog post.
6) The English translations are really quite sloppy. So I could start occasionally writing the post in Englisch and then translating it into German. Then sometimes the German version would be no good. Or I could actually put some effort into the translation.
7) The Massive Blog is the 7th thing that Google throws up when you google Massive Blog (without quotation marks). With Bing, even with quotation marks, the Massive Blog is nowhere to be found. This shows, how unbelievably poor Bing is.
8) The mixture of blog content of world news, everyday stories and miscellaneous other nonsense is pretty good.
9) It is barely noticeable when I've written the blog just before going to sleep or even when already in bed. The mediocrity of the posts is more or less constant.
10) The colour scheme of the blog is brilliant and should never be altered.
If you have any additional comments or indignancies, let me know. That was basically my state of the blog address. Cheerio!
