Fish and Chips and Cheese

English translation follows the German text.

Jut.

Some things go well together: Fish and Chips. Some things don't: Fish and Cheese. Every Thursday I try to combine two of the current world events and write something sensible or interesting or, if it really comes of, vaguely entertaining.
Today, Bobby Zamora was accepted into the Music Hall of Fame. As a young boy he wowed millions of fans across the whole world with his talent. The high point of his career will probably not come until the Summer of 2010, when he will hit the winning goal in the World Cup final. His fifth album Off the Wall was also a global success and, if he hadn't have died when he was 50 two Summers ago, then he might have also won the Premier League, which he could have kept in his cupboard next to his multiple gold records. He was a wunderkind, but his first years at the top level at West Ham and Spurs were rather difficult, until Thriller helped him to break through to world stardom. Now, for ever honoured in the Hall of Fame, Bobby Zamora will never be forgotten and his acquittal in June 2005 has become the real Kennedy Moment (where were you when?) of today's generation.
Right: it would be nice if you would write "Fish and Chips" or "Fish and Cheese" as your comments - then, over the course of the ensuing weeks, we can compare all the pairs of two with one another and see which one is the most super. Good.

English translation follows the German text.

Heute ist also kein Super-Sonntag.

Today we've got one of these texts about an object, which I just happen to have noticed on my table or possibly in my fridge. So today isn't really a Super Sunday. But that doesn't really matter.
Today it's about the company "Gutes Land" (Good Country). Good Country is a company, which produces milk products, e.g. milk, in Germany and sells them in cheap supermarkets. The milk is pretty alright, even if some people do get worked up about the poor farmers, because they're so poor. I don't really get worked up about that. I get worked up by the fact that they are called "Good Country", but don't sell any country. It would surely be much better to call themselves "Good Milk", if they want to give the impression of a high milk quality. They describe the milk as "fresh" and "longer lasting", which is reasonable, but whether it is also "good" - so basically the most essential of all essential information which the customer needs, remains a mystery to him. He is therefore forced to buy the milk in order to then find out whether it's good or not. Fortunately, the fresh milk (which is also longer lasting) from Good Country is also good. I can however confirm that that is just chance. The kefir from them is, it must be said, also good, and the cheese is indeed tasty, but it then sticks together a bit and then the individual slices break apart a bit because of a too high sticking resistance towards the slice lying underneath. And that is somewhat less than "good".
Have a nice Sunday.
