Vor einigen Wochen habe ich etwas über das Peter-Prinzip geschrieben. Ich wollte damals sagen, dass es klar ist, dass die Opposition nicht so leistungsfähig sein wird, wenn sie in die Regierung kommt, denn sie schafft es nur, in die Regierung zu kommen, wenn sie eine hervorragende Opposition ist, was aber leider keine Garantie dafür ist, dass sie jut regieren kann.
Dazu möchte ich heute nur sagen, dass einem eine ähnliche Situation bevorsteht, wenn es um das Streben nach dem Einschlafen geht. Man kann einschlafen wollen und man kann durchaus einschlafen, weil man nämlich einschlafen möchte. Was man aber dann nicht machen kann, ist dies irgendwie feiern oder dafür irgendwie (außer in der dritten Person) beglückwunscht werden, dass das Ziel erreicht ist. Im Vergleich zu einem Sieg im Champions-Leauge-Halbfinale im Camp Nou, wo circa. 100.000 Fans + beliebige Millionen TV-Zuschauer (auch wenn's in Deutschland nur auf Sky zu sehen war) bilden diejenigen, die in der Lage sind, einem direktes Lob zu schenken, ein Minimalis.

A few weeks ago, I wrote something about the Peter Principle. I wanted to say then, that it is obvious that the opposition won't be that good at getting things done once it gets into governmnet because it's only managed to get into government by being a magnificent opposition, which is not in any way a guarantee of being able to govern well.
To develop on this theme, I would just like to say today that one is faced with a similar situation when dealing with the striving for falling asleep. One can want to fall asleep and one can certainly fall asleep, precisely because one wanted to fall asleep. What one can however not do, is celebrate this in some way or in some manner (other than in the third person) be congratulated for having achieved one's aim.
