Coke

English translation follows the German text.

Coca Cola (Coke) and Pepsi don't have the same taste. I know that. But because I only occasionally drink cola and when I do, then usually mixed with whisky or vodka, I've not really had the opportunity to find Coke or Pepsi better or worse than its conpetitor. Because I only drink them at very irregular (and spread far apart, which is actually far more important than the lack of regularity) intervals, my taste-memory only suffices to say that they both taste like cola. The problem is further exacerbated by the fact that I often, when I drink a whisky- or vodka-coke (coke here as euphamism for all colas), I don't even know whether it's been made with Coke (actual Coke) or Peopsi or some other cola.
So I'm not able, if asked, to say whether I prefer to drink Coke or Pepsi. But I would like to claim that that's not a necessarily bad thing. Because were I to prefer Coke or Pepsi, I would find the other one (and presumably all other cola-varieties) worse. This would then lead to my being interested in which cola was in my whisky-cola and to then, it follows, being disappointed if this wasn't my favourite cola. That would be shit, particularly because, on account of the large number of cola-varieties, it is unlikely that my favourite cola would show up in the majoity of pubs I visit.
This means that I'd sooner not know and enjoy every mixed drink the same. It's possible that this goes against the human thirst for knowledge, but the human thirst for long drinks is covered very nicely.
See you tomorrow.
