Flash Mobs and Salami Sandwiches

Guten Tag. Ich weiß nicht wirklich, was ein Flash Mob ist. Ich habe eine gewisse Ahnung, die größtenteils aus dem Eurovision Song Contest stammt, aber so wirklich was die sind oder woher die kommen, weiß ich nicht. In solchen Fällen lese ich meistens bei Wikipedia nach, um solche Bildungslücken wieder einzufüllen. In dem Falle des Flash Mobs ist es mir aber irgendwie zu egal. Ich meine, ich gucke das Video gerade von Madcons "Glow" und ich sehe, dass viele Leute irgendwie auf ähnliche Art und Weise tanzen, und das ziemlich überall in Europa, (auch wenn das Lied von "all around the World" spricht). Aber warum das Flash Mob heißt, oder inwiefern das sich von einer sonstigen Tanztruppe unterscheidet, habe ich irgendwie keine Lust herauszufinden. Es ist ein seltsames Phänomen, wenn man tatsächlich erkennt, dass man etwas nicht weiß, dennoch total undurstig nach dem entsprechenden Wissen ist. Ich bleibe aber optimistisch und sage kein Ende unserer Gesellschaft wie wir sie kennen voraus. Etwas Neues möchte ich doch wissen: habe heute gelernt wie man ein Salamisandwich auf französisch bestellt. Bis morgen.

Hello. I don't really know what a flash mob is. I have some idea, which mainly comes from the Eurovision Song Contest, but really exactly what they are or where they come from, I don't know. In such cases, I usually have a read of Wikipedia, in order to fill in such gaps in my education. In the case of the flash mob though, I can't really be bothered for some reason. I mean, I'm currently watching the video for Madcon's "Glow" and I can see that lots of people are somehow dancing in a similar fashion to one another, and they're doing it pretty much all over Europa (even if the song speaks of "all around the world"). But why that is called a flash mob or to what extent it can be distinguished from any other dancing troupe, I'm not really fussed about finding out. It is a strange phenomenon, when you actually recognise that you don't know something, but are nevertheless completely unthirsty for the relevant knowledge. I still remain optimistisch and do not predict the end of our society as we know it. There are still some new things that I want to find out: I learnt today how you order to salami sandwich in French. See you tomorrow.
