The Future of the Massive Blog

English translation follows the German text.

Hallo.

Hello.
Behind door 18 I would like to discuss somthing with you and namely the future of the Massive Blog.
The year 2010 is slowly coming to an end. The Massive Blog is, somewhat by chance, but nevertheless in fact quite tightly connected to the year 2010. Its address is, of course, herrbench2010.blogspot.com, its first post was in the first week of January 2010 and it can be basically understood as a documentation of world history from the year 2010.
With the coming-to-an-end of the year 2010 however, the Massive Blog is obviously not coming to an end. But should something change? One suggestion could sound like this: "Herr Bench, you could bring in a new web address, such as herrbench2011.blogspot.com and continue the Massive Blog there."
This suggestion would not be completely imbecilic. I could even have a link on the new page to the Massive Blog 2010, so that this year's posts don't get lost. Then the Massive Blog 2010 would be basically a completed, finished entity, standing for ever, unchangeable, like the bible or similar holy texts (with the exception that the comment function would still function, which would make ammendments by the readers possible, even if the text itself wouldn't be changed anymore.)
The problem with this basically artificiallly created completeness of the Massive Blog 2010 is that you would then expect a caesura and that something would change in the Massive Blog 2011. But why should that happen? The Massive Blog, at the level of posts and as a whole, works as a permanent development, now up, now down, now sideways, and I don't see any real reason to do anything differently in the new year, just because it's a new year.
So, unless I get some really convincing arguments for an alternative, the Massive Blog will remain at herrbench2010.blogspot.com and the number "2010" in the URL will, in the future, just be a reference to the year of the Massive Blog's coming into being, rather than to the current year in which we're living. That this was bis dato the case, can be put down to coincidence.
See you tomorrow.
