8th. January

English translation follows the German text.

Ciao!

Just a short post today. It is Friday after all. Today when I came home there was a note on the kitchen door: Fire, please don't cook, the kitchen is shut until it's ready to be used again. I had a look in and you could indeed see, that a fire extinguisher had been sprayed around and there were in fact a few black marks on the door of one of the ovens. I read the note again, but I was nevertheless still hungry and I thought I'd give it a go. I then proceeded to cook my dinner in the normal way - the hob was working perfectly normally, and everything was good and tasty. The toaster wasn't giving any problems either.

So the kitchen seems to be working fine. My landlord doesn't want me using it though. And why? It's possible that it has something to do with the used fire extinguisher. He doesn't want, if there should be another fire, that I go down in the flames because I can't extinguish them. Only... he didn't stop me cooking. He just put a note on the door. He didn't lock the door, which can only mean: he's not that bothered, whether I die or not, so long as he's managed with his note to pass on the responsibility for it.

I would like to wish all my readers a pleasant weekend. Not sure if there'll be any posts over the next couple of days - is more than possible. Later!

  1. I think you should incorporate a hit counter on this blog to confirm the silent majority of internet users worldwide who are reading it

  2. looked into it. lazily. and didn't work out how to do it. would almost certainly need one that can cope with double figures, so won't be easy.
