Moralische Zwickmühle

English translation follows the German text.

Hallo.

Hello. The Blog is not dead. It was just on the road for a few days, but now it's back again and today it's about the moral predicament, that I have found myself in these last few days. What it is, is I've received a letter, which explained more precisely, how much and what for I actually get money off the paper. It's not bad - I get, like, reasonable money for the articles that I write and I'm happy with that. More problematic is that I get better money, so to speak, for the photo-series - basically just photos that I rip out of the database, throw together and put short commentaries to. For these, I get, at least that's how it seems, a fair bit more money than I should do, at least compared to the articles, which are pumped full of my creativity and, well, humour, intelligence, and whatever else. But from now on I can't possibly, when thinking what I should do at work, tomorrow for example, ignore the fact that I get better money from putting together some old photos, than when I sit down and write something new, fresh, or interesting. This is a quite new problem, which comes in addition to the already present problem, that one gets more cash not for quality, but for length. (Insert awful gigolo joke here.) But fair enough, besides all the problems, it is quite nice to finally get a bit of financial recognition for my work - maybe I should just stop whining.
See you tomorrow.

  1. Use less commas and maybe you'll get more money

  2. Thanks for the tip - erroneous, but still quite funny. It comes about because I'm sloppily translating from a comma-heavy language. Will try to sort my life out.
